All around kids are eating; ain't I so jealous

A free sample does he offer with a genuine gleam
An inch more and I'd know what pink tasteth

With a disgusted look, he scorns my choice
A gourmet that will take a fairytale wait



God made me and He made the candies
He knows the recipe for my gourmet feast
I'll have starters, then some more
By the time I'm just starting on the dessert
All those candies would've melted away
So I'll pass the candies for what's coming
Though it's hard enough the wait
